About ELTA

Hellenic Post (ELTA) is a Group of Companies providing modern, high-quality postal services at affordable prices to all throughout the country.

ELTA was founded in 1828 by the first Governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, under Resolution no.6550 XVII.

ELTA Group consists of ELTA S.A. and its subsidiary, ELTA COURIER S.A.

Since December 2020, the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations S.A. (HCAP) has held 100% of ELTA S.A.'s share capital. Hellenic Post provides postal and financial services, retail products, and courier services.

According to law 4053/2012, "On Postal Services, Electronic Communications and Other Provisions," ELTA is the Universal Service Provider obligated to provide universal service until December 31st, 2028.

The provision of universal service determines the character of ELTA in terms of their position and their role in the operation of the postal market, in the sense of commitment to the State to provide acceptable quality universal services at affordable prices to all citizens. As a result of this commitment, in combination with the geographical morphology of the Greek territory, the largest retail network in Greece, with more than 800 service points, has been preserved and operates.

Hellenic Post focuses on the customers and their level of service. It strives to meet their ever-changing needs, promotes innovation, develops new products, and continually enriches the services provided. The goal is to strengthen the long-term relationship of trust created with the millions of customers with whom it comes into contact daily.

In recent years, the company has fully achieved all quality objectives in the handling of domestic and foreign mail set by the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) and the International Post Corporation.

ELTA mainly invests in upgrading its human resources skills for a more effective response to the new needs (new products, new technologies) in the rapidly evolving postal environment.

The development of new, innovative actions is a strategic goal of ELTA. Environment and contribution to the vision of sustainable development are strategic choices of the Company. ELTA develops environmental actions and participates in international environmental programs.
